Alicia (Lissa) Marth

Online Instructor

Education: Communication is a central focus of my education and past professional experiences. My B.A. is in Communication from St. Norbert College, and I earned a MBA-Corporate Communication degree from Concordia University Wisconsin where I was bestowed the “Graduate Business Student of the Year” award. Additionally, I have obtained teaching certification in the Wisconsin Technical College System and a Certificate in Instructional Writing. I instruct a large variety of undergraduate and graduate communication skills courses.

Professional Experience, Leadership: For twenty-five years, I experienced a career in private business with manufacturers and retailers. I performed in sales, marketing, and management capacities with my most recent position as a V.P. Sales. In that role, I conducted recruiting, interviewing, training, marketing, selling, strategic and operational planning, and other managerial activities. After the size of the company doubled over this tenure, I decided to make a significant change to pursue my “dream job” as a teacher of adult learners.

For the last six years, I have been instructing undergraduate communication skills courses – specifically “Written Communication,” “English Composition,” “Communicating through Writing,” “Technical Reporting,” “Communicating Effectively,” “Oral/Interpersonal Communication,” and “Speech.” For the last two years, I have been instructing a graduate level “Advanced Interpersonal Communication” course, and recently a graduate level “Public Speaking” course.

In additional to teaching, I continue to provide strategic communication, sales, and marketing consulting services and conduct communication skills training seminars for other manufacturers in Northeast Wisconsin.

Lastly, I serve on the Ashwaubenon Education Foundation Board of Directors, Wisconsin Destination Imagination Board of Directors, and I coordinate thirteen co-curricular Destination Imagination (DI) teams in grades K-12 within the Ashwaubenon School District in Green Bay, WI. The Ashwaubenon School District honored me with the WASDA Certificate of Recognition as the Child Advocate of the Year Award in 2012.
